Ruben "Milonga" will be here again in late February and early March. For
those of you who have not had the opportunity to meet him, Ruben is an excellent
dancer, teacher, and tango historian. He is especially interested in
preserving Argentine tango as it was danced during the "golden years."
As always, Ruben will teach classes, workshops, and private lessons. His
"base" will again be in Orinda. His schedule includes:
EVENTS AND CLASSES IN BERKELEY
The following events will be held at the historic Hillside Club, 2286 Cedar
Street, Berkeley:
Saturday, February 26 -- 7:00-11:00 pm:
CLASS FOR ALL-LEVELS (7:00-8:00 pm)
MILONGA (8:00-11:00 pm)
Music will be Argentine tango, vals, or milonga with occasional sets of
American swing and Latin dances. A complimentary light buffet, wine, and soft
drinks will be served.
$10.00/person for Hillside Club members in advance
$15.00/person for non-members in advance

LECTURE: TANGO; THE DANCE illustrated by life-sized videos (1:00-3:00 pm)

( I have attended the same lecture Ruben gave several days earlier in Monterrey. It was packed with historic material up to 1960 and unique videos of great social dancers. People were very impressed. I saw some of the material for the second time and was able to recognize much more elements and techniques. Great, thank you Ruben for doing all this! - Igor )

PRIVATE LESSONS IN ORINDA
One-hour lessons held in Orinda by appointment most mornings, afternoons and
early evenings. Private lessons are $70/hour/couple or individual ($90 for 2
couples)
THURSDAY NIGHT "SMALL GROUP" CLASSES IN ORINDA
These "small group" classes require a minimum of 3 couples and a maximum of 6
couples per class. They will be held in Orinda March 3 and March 10.
BASIC CLASSES (7:30-8:30) INTERMEDIATE CLASSES (8:30-9:30)
PRACTICA (9:30-10:00)
One-hour classes are $10/person. The Practica is included.

FROM Hiway 24 West, take the Berkeley (Hiway 13) exit to Ashby Avenue. Turn
right on Shattuck Ave., then right on Cedar Street. It is about 3 1/2 block

FROM Hiway 80, take the University Avenue exit and drive toward the hills.
